Each month has a different science theme, and all activities are free with museum admission.

The Granby Public Library welcomes the Granby Early Childhood Council as May's "Guest Storytellers" with a host of storytimes planned throughout May.  The GECC storytime sessions are scheduled for 1:30 - 2:15pm and include stories, songs and simple crafts.  May 15 and May 17 explores Kites with kite-making and windsock crafts.

Wednesday, May 23 - Kids Play, You Stay

The Kids Play, You Stay Playgroup is moving from the Granby Senior & Youth Center  to the Holcomb Farm beginning on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.  Parents, grandparents,  and other caregivers can enjoy a cup of coffee and adult conversation, while the children play, explore, sing, listen to stories, or create simple crafts.  

 

Where: Holcomb Farm, 115 Simsbury Road, West Granby, CT.  The farm is located 3 miles west of Granby Center, just off Route 20.

Moon Dough

I found this recipe for moon dough/cloud dough on Pinterest! It peaked my interest so we spent an afternoon playing in it. It's really easy to make and both of my kids had a ball playing in the stuff. This could also be a great activity one day on Spring Break!

What you need:

  • 8-16 cups of flour
  • 1-2 cups of baby oil

This super easy recipe is an easy and delicious twist on traditional Strawberry Shortcake.

Ingredients:
1 Box White or Yellow Cake Mix
3 Eggs
1 8 oz. Package Softened Cream Cheese
¼ cup All Purpose Flour
2 Quarts of Strawberries
¼ cup Granulated Sugar
Whipped Cream
